DropMail is pretty simple, so these docs will be pretty short.
general: To use DropMail, just drag any text file on to the DropMail icon, and release. DropMail will prompt you for an address, a return address and a subject. Fill out this information, and click on "send". The return address will be saved for future use, and the subject will always be derived from the filename.
address book: To use the address book, you can either click on "edit address book" in the main dialog, or you can launch DropMail, and select the same option from the file menu (or use command-E). The address book stores up to 10 addresses for future use, and can be accessed via a pop-up menu in the main dialog. In order for any changes to take effect, you must relaunch DropMail.
formatting: DropMail will convert your mail in to a line by line format before sending. What this means is that your mail will be easy for the recipient to read. This also means that if you're using formatted text, it's likely to end up looking wrong. Normal mail should always be fine, but if you MUST use formatted text, you are advised to make sure that there is a UNIX newline character after every line.
also, certain Macintosh characters will not show up correctly on UNIX terminals. In particular, "smart" quotes (╥ and ╙) will show up incorrectly. You are advised to use regular quotes (") instead.
networking: Sometimes Open Transport will take a few seconds to open the first time you use it after every reboot. Because of this, your machine may appear to freeze for a few seconds the first time you use it. This is normal, and will generally be found with all applications that use Open Transport.
Sending mail may take longer than you would expect--especially long messages over slow connections. Once Open Transport is open, you should be able to place DropMail in the background and continue to work while the mail is sent. DropMail will quit when it's finished sending the mail.
